2010 Youth Summit Schedule
The 2009 Allen County United Youth Summit is still in planning stages. Our schedule will be published soon, but we could use your input. If you’ve got an idea for the summit please send us a note.
Workshops
- Silence the Violence – This workshop is a wakeup call for all of us youth out there. It is time to make a change! Students will learn that there is a end to violence, and how they can possible help others that have gone through pain in the past.
- Hope for the Homeless – Everyday there is someone out that looking for hope and a home. This workshop will help students become aware of the needs of our community’s homeless population and ways that they can be involved with making things better for all involved.
- Read to Lead – Teens will learn that they can now be leaders by having younger kids look up to them. Students will learn how to give back to the younger generation through helping them in their education. The workshop will focus on ways that students can help all kids succeed in their education through reading and other means.
- Heroes to Honor – This workshop is for teens to learn how to get involved with their communities heroes. Veterans fight for our freedom every day, and it is important for our generation to give back. Learn how to get better connected with veterans and their families and what their needs are!
- Sharing is Caring – Volunteering is always a community need. Teens can found out more about how they can give a helping hand in their town. Successful youth will share their stories and you can find out how to get involved and what areas of volunteering might be best suited for you.
